Tonight is the Nigtht – There Is A Chill In The Air

It Has To Come Out

Goodie Day

Gooooooooooooooood Morning World!

This is my new daily wake up message.  It reminds me that I cannot change what is going to happen in the day ahead, but I can decide what my attitude and outlook is going to be.  It is up to me to make it a good day.

IMG_2965

The big chill is finally here.  Now for some of you 59 degrees at 7:45 pm would be considered a heat wave.  But for us it is down right cold.  How low will it go?  They say to the mid 30’s by tomorrow morning.  Time will tell.

IMG_2957

One of our heavy blankets is on the bed and there are two more blankets at the foot of the bed just in case.

IMG_2960

Our electric heaters have been brought in.  The heat pump is set for 60 degrees.  If needed we can also use our propane furnace.  We’ll be fine.  These 30 degree temperature’s are only supposed to be for two nights.

The verdict is in, unfortunately, our washer/dryer is going to have to come out.  I’m still not sure where it is leaking but it is leaking.  Given the fact that it took two much younger gentleman than myself to install it, the first hurdle is going to be finding someone(s) to yank it out.  We may have to take it to LazyDays to have it repaired.  They are the local repair facility for Splendide.  The worse of it is, it is probably going to be a month before we can get an appointment to have it looked at.  Darn.

Goodies from Amazon.  We purchased a new Omni Directional OTA antenna to replace the old bat wing antenna that we currently have.  I purchased a can of Slide Out Lube – my project for tomorrow will be lubricating all the slide seals.  I also purchased a new insulated water bottle.  Finally, Ms Barbara purchased an assortment of nail brushes.  She said she was tired of looking at my dirty fingernails.

IMG_2956

My latest book.  I’m about half way through it and expect to finish it by the end of the week.

That was our day on The Road of Retirement.  We both kept busy throughout the day.  I prepared the washer/dryer to be yanked out.  I spent a couple of hours just reading.  Ms Barbara was on the phone a good part of the day making and confirming doctor’s appointments.  I finally was able to find and order the step motor.  We had a good day from start to finish.  Hope you did too.

Thanks again for stopping by today  We always appreciate your company, and your comments and suggestions. Keep safe, keep healthy, live to the fullest the days that God gives you.

Sunday Worship At Our Home Church In New Jersey

Never thought We’d Be There Again

Gooooooooooooooooood Morning World!  I don’t care what anyone says it is a great time to be alive.  I have a few possibilities yet confronting and confusing me that will if I dwell on them get me down.  But I’m trying to change my way of thinking and rather than dwelling on them I’m instead counting my blessings.  And oh do I have so many to count.  Life is good.

img_2878-e1606091544234.jpg

We began our Sunday morning by joining in worship with others at our home church in Colts Neck, New Jersey.

Pastor Debbie delivered our Call to Worship

Our first song.

A member of our congregation lit the first candle in the Advent Wreath.

IMG_2943

We did likewise with our own Advent Wreath.

Special music was provided by one of our bell choirs.

Pastor Scott delivered the morning message.  His message was related to the first Advent candle, which is the Candle of Hope.

He spoke of the Israelites in exile and how they exhorted one another to lift up their eyes to the God of their faith.  As they did so they received from Him the Hope they needed to get through the tough times.  He then spoke of how we who are in a certain sense in exile need to do the same.  We need to stop looking at what is immediately around us and turn our eyes upward to the God of our faith.  We need to receive from Him the Hope that He offers.  A Hope that will sustain us and see us through.

Our closing song.  Worship was at an end.

After worship we went. . . .

somewhere I thought we would never have to visit again.

Who is that masked woman folding laundry?  Why, it is Ms Barbara!

Unfortunately, ever since we had a mix up on the right fabric softener to use the machine in our rig has been leaking.  Of course it is stuffed in a small cubby hole with no access to it unless it is pulled out.   As of now I’m trying to find someone who can help me pull it out so I can take a look at it.  Unfortunately, I don’t know how long it is going to take me to get some help.

So that is where we are at on The Road of Retirement.  Worship was uplifting.  Our laundry is done.  Football Sunday was mostly disappointing.  OK, the day is done and night is now upon us.  Time to get ready to get some shut eye.  Thank you Lord for this day you gave me and all its blessings but I’ll now turn it back over to You.

Thanks again for stopping by today  We always appreciate your company, and your comments and suggestions. Keep safe, keep healthy, live to the fullest the days that God gives you.

Good Bye Thanksgiving – Hello Christmas

Today was just another day in Paradise.  As of now it is still warm and humid.  There was just enough of a breeze to make the day comfortable.  However, big changes are coming our way as of Monday and Tuesday.  Time will tell just how low the temperatures are going to go.  Depending on what forecast you read they could go down to or below freezing for a day to two. It will be what it will be.

Just a couple of pictures from around the park.

This site is two blocks over from us.  The one thing I have noticed in this park is that a lot of people love potted plants.  I wonder what they do with them when they leave at the end of the season?  I guess they take them with them.

IMG_2935

This is the site behind us.  He uses this outstanding sun screen to keep the sun off of his refrigerator vents.  I’m sure glad I don’t have to worry about that anymore.

IMG_2931

We picked up our Christmas tree today.  What it lacks in size it makes up in character.  We haven’t decided but we may add a few more ornaments to it throughout the month of December.

IMG_2930

We also purchased two new placemats for the Christmas season

IMG_2932

Since tomorrow is the start of Advent Ms Barbara picked up a wreath and four electric candles so we can make our own Advent Wreath.  Later in the month we’ll purchase and add the Christ Candle in the middle.

IMG_2937

That was our day on The Road of Retirement.  With the sun sinking in the West behind the trees we’re ready to call it a day.  We’re grateful, indeed, for the day that the good Lord gave us.  We passed the day reading and playing Mexican Train.  Oh yes, it has been a long, long time since we’ve had the Dominoes out and today was the day we brought them back out.  Time now to make the supreme sacrifice and help empty the refrigerator of some more Thanksgiving leftovers.  It’s a tough job but someone has to do it.

Just Chilling Out The Day After

Ah, the day after Thanksgiving.  Let me think, how many ways can one serve turkey and dressing?  Never mind, I’ll take mine straight on a piece of bread with lots of gravey.

The truth is there is not much happening here in The Republic of Nemmar.  Ms Barbar and myself are just chilling out and taking life easy.

I’m reading my new Tom Clancy book and Ms Barbara has been surfing the internet.

Both of us went back to the chiropractor today.  Her name is Dr. Brenda Seales and she graduated with honors from Life Chiropractic College in 1978. She has more than 42 years of experience in chiropractic care.  We’re both grateful that we were able to find her.

So that was our utterly normal, nothing too exciting, laid back, chilling kind of day on The Road of Retirement.

Thanks for sharing our day with us today.  We always appreciate your company, and your comments and suggestions. Keep safe, keep healthy, live to the fullest the days that God gives you.
