April 23rd, Monday – Rain, Rain, Go Away

Rain, Rain, Go Away – At least between 8 and 9 am tomorrow, please.  This morning was another nice one.  It’s so much easier to crawl out from under the covers when the temperature is in the mid 60’s as it was again this morning.  I’m sure as we continue to move north it’s not going to get much warmer anytime soon.  Another lesson learned, stay in Florida until the mid part of or end of April.

So we ambled out to the kitchen for breakfast.  Two eggs on toast, juice, and a couple of cups of coffee to get the blood circulating.  It was a good day to be alive.  We mapped out a plan for the day – really exiting.  A trip to the wishy-washy and that would be the sum total of our day.  Not that I’m complaining since I like simple, easy days like this from time to time.

So we got the laundry together and off we went to Clarksville.  Remember that old song by the Monkees , Take the last train to Clarksville And I’ll meet you at the station well we got started singing it and from then on we couldn’t get it out of heads!  It’s a nice little town, one Main Street, a few fast food restaurants, an auto parts store, the required Chinese take out, a few banks, and, of course, a pizza store.  Everything you could need more or less.  A couple of hours later and we were headed home with clean clothes for another week.

Once home Barbara decided to try to teach an old dog (that’s me) something new (the game of Yahtzee).  At first, it was sort of confusing, OK, I’ll admit it I catch on slowly when it comes to some things.   But I finally got the hang of it and we had a good time playing it together.

Barbara and Marti are both a bit better today.  That’s a good thing for all of us.  I really don’t like seeing either of them under the weather.  Thanks everyone for your prayers.

Rain, rain go away – at least tomorrow morning, please?  So tomorrow is moving day and right now the weather is not looking too good.  Steady rain with high winds.  The rain we didn’t have when we arrived, but the wind, oh the wind was a beast.  Oh well, we’ll just have to roll with whatever we’re presented with and make the best of it.

So day is done and the rain has already started.  Once again our day was a great one that we spent together, side by side, singing our song.  Our total stay here was just meant to be a way stop, same as with the next stop, on our way toward Maine.  We’re getting there, slow and steady, we don’t see any reason to rush the process.  We hope you also had a great day and enjoyed every minute of it, no matter what the day brought you.  In closing, this is my prayer for each and every one who is readying this:

As always,  if you are coming to the end of your day with concerns and worries let me suggest that you turn them over to God.  After all, He is going to be up all night so why not let him handle them for you.

Time now for our evening prayers and some shut-eye.  Till tomorrow.  Thanks again for sharing our day with us.

  1. Oops, I hit “send”. You two make the most of your days, playing games, singing duets and just living a dream. Now I’ll hit “send”. Have a safe trip tomorrow.
