We awoke this morning with a purpose and a mission to accomplish. Not only where we moving to a new home, we also had an appointment at State Line Camping Center for a necessary repair to Graybeard. So we were up and at it at an early hour, at least for us. Breakfast would be somewhere at a diner somewhere after we dropped Graybeard off.
On the road by 9 am, we headed south. It wasn’t a bad ride at all and within the hour we were at our first stop, State Line Camping Center.

Time to have the transfer switch replaced. It started making a really loud humming noise about a week ago, Not good. I can’t say enough good things about these guys.

They had a full schedule of repairs but when I explained last week that this was our home, that we were passing through, they cleared their schedule in order to get us in. The first problem they ran into was that the model of the transfer switch that was currently installed was no longer available. But they were able to get the replacement for it. However, in order to install it they had to run new wires from the generator to the switch. So it was not a simple one out and one in. As for the old one they explained that we had caught it just in time. Left alone it would have eventually gone out who knows where – probably in the middle of nowhere with no place to have it replaced. Thank you good Lord.
OK, a few hours later repairs were finished, we topped off our propane tank and were back on the road headed to our new home. The nice thing was it was less than 45 minutes from the camping center. So in due time we arrived at our new home. What

threw me at first is the distance that the campground is from the main road. I was wondering where in the world are we going. But the campground, of course, is there! And here is our new home, not the best picture but tomorrow I’ll take another one.

We have a concrete pad, reasonable level, utilities are conveniently located – no sewer though. There is also great separation between sites and grass all around and a few trees here and there. It is really a neat site for the next 8 days. Here is the view out the front. It’s really sweet when the sun is shining but even with the clouds it is fantastic.

Of course, the day could not go by without a little drama. They say everyone has their nemesis in their lives and mine is the patio awning. That darn thing just loves to taunt me and it does it’s best to get under my skin. Oh, I got it out without an issue but then with the threat of strong winds coming through I decided since we were going out it would be best to put it away. Wrong! I always seem to forget one step and end up getting it jammed. No different this time. I got it jammed half in and half out and the rain was beginning to fall. Then – bam – it sprung free and rolled up just like that. Bottom line I was able to correct my mistake, fix what I broke and it once again works like a charm. I believe I need to print out a checklist for rolling it out and rolling it up.
We then left Graybeard and headed to my sister Cindy’s for supper. She and Charlie live only 20 minutes from the campground. We’re so thankful she had us over for supper it made things so much easier for us. What a meal she had for us: pot roast, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, and some really nice wine. After supper we spent time just gabbing and planning the week out, who was cooking when and what and so on and so forth. Oh, and we also got to take some really long, hot showers. It was the perfect end to the day.
That was our day. A little of this and a little of that. Overall it was another great day from beginning to end. Yea, the wallet is a bit lighter today, me and the patio awning made up, and the day ended with a great visit with my sister and her husband. What more could one ask for? And as always we did it together, traveling along, hand in had, singing our song. Thanks for joining us and until tomorrow another thought for all of us to ponder:

As always, if you are coming to the end of your day with concerns and worries, let me suggest that you turn them over to God. After all, He is going to be up all night so why not let him handle them for you.
Time now for our evening prayers and eventually some shut-eye. Till tomorrow.
These are the voyages of Graybeard and it’s occupants, four paws and two humans. Our continuing mission: to explore as many new states as possible, to seek out new acquaintances and make new friends, to boldly go where we have not been before
Glad you’re all fixed up and staying at Ives Run. That is a beautiful park. Will you get into Wellsboro? Interesting town. Enjoy your time with family.
