August 8th, Wednesday – Staying Home and Taking Care of Business

Oh, Wow! I awoke this morning still stuffed from last night’s supper.  It was an early morning for me, for no other reason than I just could not sleep.  In addition, it rained so hard I, honestly, thought that it was hail at first.  Put it all together I wasn’t going to get back to sleep.  So I did what comes naturally I started tinkering with Graybeard.

First order of business was to try to reset the automatic leveling jacks.  I made sure Graybeard was dead level then I reset the computer for the jacks.  Next, I brought the jacks back up and then tried to auto level once again.  Still no go.   However, I can manually level Graybeard so I’m still a happy camper.

Moving on I decided to try to make my peace with the patio awning.  I believe we’ve finally come to an agreement.  I remember to do what needs to be done in the proper order and the awning agreed to work without an issue.  So it did when I rolled it out this morning.  And, when I rolled it back up this evening.

Time now for breakfast.  Eggs on toast, juice, corn beef hash and a couple of cups of coffee.  Barbara had scrambled eggs.  A great breakfast that filled the tummy and satisfied the appetite.

I promised a better picture of our new home and set up so here it is full front.

home sweet home much better

Turtle, spinner, and flower are out so we are now officially home for the next 9 days.

The day itself was full of odds and ends.  Tire covers on, stake the awning down for the day, clean the inside vent screens, straighten up a bit on the inside, go over some paper work and so it went.  Nothing major just a lot of busy work.  But no complaints from me.

Supper time and it was back to my sister Cindy’s for supper.  We had an old-fashioned barbecue with hot dogs and hamburgers/cheeseburgers and home made macaroni salad – it is one of my favorites and it was delicious.  Then to top it all off, oh yea, home made lemon meringue pie!  Oh was it ever good.  When my sister offered to let me take a piece of pie home you just know I jumped at that opportunity.  Tomorrow night it is our turn to feed the troops and Barbara is already making plans for a super supper over at our home.

That was the sum total of our day.  Tomorrow we are going into Wellsboro to do some shopping.  Many years ago a friend and myself where up here on our motorcycles.  It’s a great area for riding on two wheels and we absolutely enjoyed the countryside and the roads with their twists and turns and ups and downs.  Now, I’ve traded my two wheels for six wheels and I’m perfectly happy about it.

So that’s it.  Thanks for joining us for the day.  We hope you had a great day as well.  We feel so blessed to be living this nomadic lifestyle and enjoying this great country of ours.  Top it off with time with family and life doesn’t get much better than that.  So I’m going to leave you now as always with something to think about:

As always,  if you are coming to the end of your day with concerns and worries, let me suggest that you turn them over to God.  After all, He is going to be up all night so why not let him handle them for you.

Time now for our evening prayers and eventually some shut-eye.  Till tomorrow.

These are the voyages of  Graybeard and it’s occupants, four paws and two humans.  Our continuing mission: to explore as many new states as possible, to seek out new acquaintances and make new friends, to boldly go where we have not been before
