Aug 9th, Thursday – Supper Together at Graybeard; All Steamed Up, As In Steam Cleaning the Carpets

Up and at it this morning since we had shopping to do.  We needed to get into Wellsboro to pick up odds and ends and some supplies for tonight’s supper.  Of course, since there was also a McDonalds close to where we were going we knew where we were headed for breakfast.  What can I say I like the Steak, Egg and Cheese Bagel.

Everyone in the car – we’re not allowed to leave Marti alone in Graybeard – and we were on the road.  Soon enough we were at McDonalds and everyone, and I mean everyone, got something they liked for breakfast.  Tummies full, it was now time to go shopping.

We headed off to Dollar General and the Weis Supermarket.  Two stops, maybe an hour total and our shopping was done and it was time to head for home.  Of course, we no more than arrived home and I heard from the kitchen I don’t believe I forgot that.  This time Barbara flew solo for the items she had forgotten earlier.

Barbara spent the day in the kitchen preparing for tonight’s supper.  It was our turn to feed the troops.  While she did her thing I began to make plans for 2019.  I now have a preliminary list of states that we’ll probably be going to.  We both have to sit down now and hash things out and decide where in each state we really want to go.  If all goes according to plan, we’ll more than likely spend 2019 in the mid part of the country.

Soon enough my sister Cindy and her husband Charlie arrived for supper.  I can’t say it enough, this is truly  one of the highlights of this trip and that is getting to spend time with them.  They are truly two of God’s beautiful people.  I cherish the time we get to spend together.

So we all gathered at the picnic table for a supper of chicken cutlets, home made macaroni salad, topped off with a special cake that Barbara made for dessert.  The weather was perfect and the bugs stayed away.  Marti even decided to behave, sort of.  Life is grand.

Then my sister got to work – yea Cindy!  She had brought her steam cleaning machine for the rugs from home and went through Graybeard from front to back.  What a difference it made.  You can really see it this morning.  So our home is all spiffy and clean and looks like a million dollars.

So we had another fantastic day in every way, shape and form.  Great food, time with family, and perfect weather.  Thanks for joining us again.  Hopefully you had just as great a day.  Before I go as always I want to leave you with something to think about:

As always,  if you are coming to the end of your day with concerns and worries, let me suggest that you turn them over to God.  After all, He is going to be up all night so why not let him handle them for you.

Time now for our evening prayers and eventually some shut-eye.  Till tomorrow.

These are the voyages of  Graybeard and it’s occupants, four paws and two humans.  Our continuing mission: to explore as many new states as possible, to seek out new acquaintances and make new friends, to boldly go where we have not been before
