Getting Used To Doing Nothing

Another beautiful day.  I can really get used to this.  I’m having a hard time, however, getting used to doing nothing.  We’ve been on the move so much this year I’m always thinking I should be either setting up or breaking down.  Either that or there has to be something that needs to be taken care of.  I’m sure in time I’ll adjust.  Either that or I’ll get inventive and discover things to do.  Come to think of it, I know already of a couple of things that need attention.  Gee, I’m suddenly feeling better!

With so much time on my hands I also figured maybe it would be a great idea to have a few good books on hand.  With that in mind I went to the park library and selected three good books to read.  Each one has enough pages to keep me going for at least a couple of weeks if not more.

One project was completed today.  I put our trailer hitch on the skids.  In order for our tow bar to connect to Little Graybead and remain at an acceptable angle with Graybeard I had to use a 10 inch drop receiver.  It works great.  It also drags on more gas station aprons then I care to think of.

To correct the problem I finally ordered and installed a skid wheel on the drop hitch.

Bring on those low driveways, those nasty dips when leaving a gas station, I’m ready for all of them now.

That’s about it on The Road of Retirement.  I don’t know if there will be a blog or not tomorrow.  We don’t know if we’ll be in our own home or a motel.  Tomorrow I take Greaybead to a recommended mechanic to see if he can figure out our strange noise.  Hopefully, it will turn out to be no big deal.  I’ll fill you in as soon as I know.
