So for a moment we’re going to go back to yesterday and our visit to
In the middle of Foley is the delightful six acre Centennial Park that we first discovered last year when we were here.
The park is home to the Foley Depot Museum and Model Train Exhibit, as well as Centennial Plaza, built to honor Foley’s centennial in 2015. This park and its picturesque pavilion are used throughout the year for many of the city’s annual events.
These are just some of the plants that make up the Camellia Walk. Unfortunately, they don’t begin to bloom until the beginning of November.
I pulled a stock picture from the web to give you an idea of what they would look like. They come in all different colors.
We may not have them, but we do have some other really beautiful flowers. Take a look.
Off to one side of the park is this delightful fountain.
That is Ms Barbara coming back from the other end of the park. The park is a really great place to get one’s daily walk in.
This is the train museum off to one side of the park. Of course it is closed and they even have signs discouraging anyone from climbing on the engine and the cars.
So we’ve come to the end of our sightseeing yesterday.
As for today we spent the day doing odds and ends – we did our routine housekeeping, we filed some paperwork, did some route planning for next year and being it is the first of the month it was also time to pay bills. A real exciting day, hey?
That was our day on The Road of Retirement. It was a really laid back, easy going day for both of us. Just our kind of day. Tomorrow if the weather cooperates we’ll run the roads again.
Thanks for joining us today. We always appreciate your company and your comments. Keep safe, keep healthy, enjoy the day that God has given you.
These are the voyages of Elvira and her two intrepid travelers. Our continuing mission: to explore as many new states as possible, to seek out new acquaintances and make new friends, to boldly go where we have never been before.
See you on down the road!
Centennial Park looks like a great place to take a walk! Enjoy your day tomorrow when, as you say, “run the roads”.
