Temperature, Low 61; High, 63

And The Rains Came Down

Time to Clean

Laying Low

I finally had, for the first time since we’ve been here, a full night’s sleep last night. Don’t know what’s been happening in the past but it felt good to sleep through the night. Maybe I can do a repeat tonight?

Yup, the rains came down. It came and went throughout the day only letting up around 4 pm. Cancel any outside work today. Maybe tomorrow, or the next day, or the day after that. No need to rush into these things when one is retired.

But no idle hands today.

I cleaned the whole dash area. It was definitely in need of it.

I vacuumed all the rugs, then I picked them up and steamed cleaned the entire floor. Ms. Barbara and I worked together and scrubbed all our counter tops.

The I decided to just kick back and recoup from all the activities of the past few days.

I’ve read this book before and it was a great one so I decided to read it again.

What would a rainy day be like without a few hours of Mexican Train. You’d be amazed at how fast the day passes when you get involved in this game.

Ms. Barbara made a delicious mid-day meal of roasted turkey breast, mashed potatoes, gravy, mixed vegetables, and cranberries. Take it from me my sweetheart knows how to whip up a tasty meal. So much so that if I’m not careful I end up over eating.

That was our day on The Road of Retirement. Quite truthfully, we both needed a day to just do nothing and relax. Ok, we did do a few chores but nothing major. It felt good to just sit back and read a book, watch a few Hallmark Mystery movies, and play some dominos. I guess we’re not as young as we both believe we are! Ah, but the joy of seeing and being with family these last few days makes all the aches and pains well worth it.

Thanks for taking the time to read our blog.  We always appreciate your company, your comments, and your suggestions. Keep safe, keep healthy, live to the fullest the days that God gives you.

These are the voyages of  Elvira and her two intrepid travelers.  Our continuing mission: to explore as many new states as possible, to seek out new acquaintances and make new friends, to boldly go where we have never been before.

See you on down the road!

  1. We all need time to recover from our “fun” times. It just takes us a bit longer now. 😁 I love being in the RV when it rains. Just sit back and listen to the raindrops on the roof. AHHH! Have a great weekend.
