Getting Ready For The Road
Updating and Changing
Harry

Elvira is now ready for the road. I have cleaned her from front to back.

All the woodwork in the bedroom has been cleaned and waxed. The sheets were removed, washed and put back on.

I scrubbed the shower and then waxed it.

The floor has been steamed cleaned. Now, it is just a matter of putting all the odds and ends back in place. I’ve also checked all the fluids, lubricated all the slide seals, and on Wednesday I’ll make sure the tires are at the proper pressure. Come Thursday morning we’ll be back on the road. Yipee!
As for today.

We needed to renew the registration for Elvira and Little Graybeard. We also needed to change our address on our drivers license. Now, in Florida there is no DMV, instead you go to the The Tax Collector’s Office.
Renewing the registration was a cake walk. We were done in about thirty minutes. But about that address change. For whatever reason anything to do with a driver’s license requires an appointment. Why, I have no idea. Moreover, there are no time slots available until the end of August. Therefore, this little task will have to wait until we return from Jacksonville.

Our next stop was at the Polk City Government Offices to discuss our water bill. We needed to know if it could be paid online, and if there would still be a charge if we turned it off while we were gone. So, yes, you can pay it online and, yes, you still get charged a flat fee even if you turn if off while one is gone. Not exactly fair if you ask me but there is nothing I can do about it.
Regarding Barb’s brother, Harry. He is definitely out of the woods and making a full comeback. He still has a long way to go but he is we have been assured going to make it. Thanks again, one and all for your prayers.
That’s it for now on The Road of Retirement. It’s been hectic around here what with all the little items that needed to be addressed around the house, as well as making sure Elvira was ready to roll again. No complaints, though, from either one of us. Life is good. God Is Good All The Time.
Thanks for taking the time to read our blog. We always appreciate your company, your comments, and your suggestions. Remember, take time to stop and smell the roses and live each day that God gives you to the fullest.
Though we’re stationary for the moment, it will not be for long. Our continuing mission remains: to explore as many new states as possible, to seek out new acquaintances and make new friends, to boldly go where we have never been before.
See you on down the road!
The RV looks great. Could you come to Pennsylvania because we have one in the driveway that needs a good cleaning? 😊 Good job! We’ve been getting things together for our beach place in Delaware. Yes we bought a place last month but will only take possession next month. It is in a campground so it will only be a summer home. It’s on the Bay about 8 miles west of Bethany Beach. So glad to hear that Harry has come through this setback. I put you on our prayer list at church also. 🙏🙏🙏

Glad Harry is on the mend. My, how Elvira looks so spiffy! You love that rig, and it shows! I’ve never waxed a shower! I didn’t know anyone ever did that! And that floor! I need sunglasses! You did a great job. I like your sentence – “God is Good All The Time.” Safe travels on Thursday!

You bet I love her, but not more than Barb! LOL Waxing the shower makes it easier to clean and it is less likely to grow mold. I’m ready to roll. Have a great week.

So glad to hear that Harry is doing well. (I’m also thankful that here in Georgia, we can make address changes to our driver’s license online.)
