Meet Proton The Newest Member of our Family

We had discussed this numerous times over the course of this past year. Always, the decision was the same: no more pets at this time. No dogs, cats, turtles, birds, chickens, horses or whatever. The way we travel was not ideal for having a pet onboard.

Then there was Saturday. Another resident of the park sent out a message that they had found a stray dog and did anyone know who he might belong to? Well, for some reason we just had to see this dog.

Well, we saw him and before I knew what I was saying I said Hey, if no one claims him we’ll take him. Oh no, I though, what did I just say? Ms. Barbara just looked at me as if someone or something had just taken possession of me.

Suffice to say he is now ours.

As soon as he was in the rig with one big leap he was in my lap.

We’ve named him Proton. Why? Well the Proton Center is giving me a new lease on life, we are giving this little guy a new lease on life, hence the name.

Proton is a bit rough around the edges right now. The story is he has been on the street for some time. Therefore, we are now working on getting him in tip top shape. Today, we had him to the vet for a physical and necessary shots. We estimate that Proton is around three years of age.

We also have a grooming appointment for him this Wednesday. We’ll get him a first rate bath, groomed, and have his nails cut. I can’t wait to see him after he has been all cleaned up.

Well, once again our lives have taken another unexpected turn. Not in a hundred, make that a thousand years did I ever imagine another dog in our lives so soon.
