Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Feud

Let’s just say there are so many shows in this area, with or without a meal included, that you could probably spend a month here and not see them all.

So if time and funds are limited how does one decide which one to attend? Well, we spent some time pouring over reviews for about a dozen shows and finally settled on the Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Fued.

What a scrumptious meal and a thrilling show from start to finish.

It was all you can eat and was it ever good. We had southern fried chicken, whipped spuds, coleslaw, corn on the cob, pulled possum, and my drink was a muddy creek. We did the meal justice but were a bit disheartened to learn that what we didn’t finish would be tossed in the garbage. Or, we learned that if you brought some containers with you, you could take the leftovers home with you. If we had only known.

Before we get to the show itself, a few pictures from outside the theater

These three fine modes of transportation used to run around the parking lot before the show, but alas they are now parked it seems for good. Sure would have like to see them in action.

I wonder, the source of our southern fried chicken?

Now to the show itself. Words to describe it come to mind, words like: awesome, breathtaking, captivating, fantastic, fast-paced, foot-stomping, hilarious, lively. . . Well, I believe you get the idea of the kind of show it was.

Fast paced action between two feuding families.

Crazy skits and dance numbers a plenty.

Music, well there was plenty of that. On the wildest of instruments – like a garbage can – that you can imagine.

And let’s not forget the special effects. In fact, at one point in the show it actually began to rain on stage making me wonder where in the world is all that water going to to. We soon found out. The stage disappeared and what to my wondering eyes appeared but a full size swimming pool! That led to a diving competition between the two feuding families. Sadly, no picture because I was too busy taking a video of the action.

The highlight and the end of the show was the wedding of the the two principles of the two families. Ah, nothing like wedded bliss to smooth over one’s differences.

Did we enjoy ourselves? Oh, you bet we did! We would go back and see it again if we had the opportunity. Honestly, if I could only embed the videos I took in the blog you would see what a whopper of a show it was. If you are ever in this area, it is a show that should be on your must see list.

Almost forgot,

Of course, another T-Shirt. Someday, I’m going to have a wonderful quilt.

Let’s see, we’ve visited the Apple Barn. Taken in a fantastic show. What can we do for an encore? Stay tuned. The next has been on my bucket list for a long time and tomorrow I get to check it off. Till them.

Thanks again for spending some time with us.  It’s always great to be able to share our story with family and friends. Comments? Feel free to share them with me. And always remember, cherish every moment of every day that God gives you and live those moments to the fullest.

  1. This looks like a really fun evening! Great food and a great show! Your research paid off. The rain on the stage was something I’ve not heard of before! And then a swimming pool! I look forward to your next post as I am quite curious as to your next activity!
