So we started today just like the others before it, late. After all when there is no reason to get up at the crack of dawn then why do it. So we moved into the day laid back and with no rush to do a thing. It’s going to seem weird once we start work camping in January and have to follow a schedule. Time will tell how we handle that.
So today for the first time we were able to sit and play a full game of Mexican Train. I
would like to say that I came out the winner but truth is Barbara once again got the better of me. I’m calling for a rematch as soon as possible. This is one of those games that we both enjoy and can spend hours playing.
So today some new toys came for me. The first is a new LST Battery Trickle Charger.
I had a Battery Tender but it bit the dust or so it seems. Trying to get answers from their parent company is liking pulling teeth. So I decided since their customer service/support is non existent I definitely was not going to buy another one. Hopefully this one will last longer than a year.
The next new thing is a General Tools MMD4E Moisture Meter which measures the moisture content in a wide variety of materials. The reason I got it was because I was
suspicious about several areas in Graybeard that I noted from time to time appeared damp. Unfortunately my suspicious were confirmed. I have at least two areas, one in the front around the cockpit windows and the other in the bedroom wall adjacent to the slide seal that show a higher than normal moisture content. Now neither wall feels damp to the touch. Neither area shows any signs of pealing wallpaper. Neither wall appears weak or spongy. Which leaves me wondering what exactly am I dealing with. Time for some further research. Right now I’m just glad I sort of know what I am up against.
I also finished up some outside projects on my maintenance list. Bottom line, I’m feeling really good about getting some necessary monthly maintenance items taken care of.
That then is the extent of our day. Thanks again for joining us on The Road of Retirement. As always we had another great day traveling along, hand in hand, singing our song. Hope you had a great day as well. Let’s never forget each and every day we are given can never be repeated so always make the most of each one as it comes. Before I leave as always a thought for each of us to ponder:
As always, if you are coming to the end of your day with concerns and worries, let me suggest that you turn them over to God. After all, He is going to be up all night so why not let him handle them for you.
Time now for our evening prayers and eventually some shut-eye. Till tomorrow.
These are the voyages of Graybeard and it’s occupants, four paws and two humans. Our continuing mission: to explore as many new states as possible, to seek out new acquaintances and make new friends, to boldly go where we have not been before
Way to go Barbara. My money is on you for the rematch.😁 Hey, enjoy each and every day doing chores or doing nothing. Thanks for sharing your day.
