So when I turned the news on this morning the big buzz was the hurricane bearing down on the Gulf Coast. So we quickly made the decision to get out of Dodge so to speak.
Now others including the volunteers who work here seem to feel that whatever happens will be no big deal. OK, each to their own but we believe it’s better to err on the side of caution. Especially after what we witnessed in New Bern. Time will tell if we made the right decision.
So we began packing and putting things in order. We’ll leave tomorrow and head toward Sumter Oaks in Bushnell. Tomorrow is supposed to be great for traveling but things are supposed to start going downhill as of Tuesday. So we’re leaving before we have to travel in the rain and perhaps wind. As for the weather this week in Bushnell there is supposed to be some rain on Wednesday and Thursday but no heavy winds.
So today I got my Mexican Train rematch. It went back and forth throughout the whole
game but in the end I had my revenge. There will be other games in the future and I’m sure Barbara will get me again sooner or later.
So that was the extent of our day. Some days we seem to be in overdrive on The Road of Retirement while other days we are just sort of idling along. No complaints from us we take them as them come and enjoy each and every moment we are given. Thanks for joining us today and we’ll let everyone know when we’re settled and for how long in our new home.
Before I leave you for the night a thought for each of us to ponder:
As always, if you are coming to the end of your day with concerns and worries, let me suggest that you turn them over to God. After all, He is going to be up all night so why not let him handle them for you.
Time now for our evening prayers and eventually some shut-eye. Till tomorrow.
These are the voyages of Graybeard and it’s occupants, four paws and two humans. Our continuing mission: to explore as many new states as possible, to seek out new acquaintances and make new friends, to boldly go where we have not been before
OK Barbara, you left him win, didn’t you? 😁 Have a safe trip as you head to Bushnell. Hoping your weather isn’t severe. God has certainly blessed us, so we must remember to give.
