Places We Have Called Home In 2020

Home Is Where We Park It:  Kiva RV Park & Horse Motel

Temperature 102 Degrees

Trying To Stay Cool

Washer/Dryer Fix

Yes, we’re still here.  Yes, it is hot.  However, as someone else has said it is a dry heat.  Dry or not it is still hot.  Day and Night.  Today we hit 102 degrees.  Late night and early mornings it seldom goes below 80 degrees.  Our AC’s are going full blast and doing a remarkable job at keeping us comfortable and cool.

Other than that not much else is going on.  We had one minor issue we had to attend to today.  We both noticed the top of our washer/dryer was full of lint.  What?  It is vented to the outside.  A little investigation revealed that the dryer flex tube had come off the back of the washer/dryer and it was venting directly into the closet where it is located.  Simple to fix, right?  Not really.  You have a little trap door that you have to reach through to access the back of the washer/dryer.  Then you have to reach all the way across and down to where the flex tube is supposed to be hooked on to the back of the washer/dryer.  I finally was able to get it back on – at least for now.

I was going, at first, to cut a larger access hole in the wall alongside the washer/dryer so I could get more of  myself into the back and properly attach the flex hose.  However, it doesn’t look like that is going to work.  The wall I would have to cut through is a double wall.  Moreover, no matter how big the opening I only have a very limited amount of space behind the washer/dryer to work in.  Time to sit back and come up with another plan of attack.

Other than that we didn’t do much of anything today.  We played Mexican Train, Barbara did some laundry and I played around again with our route plan for 2021.

Time to call it a day now on The Road of Retirement.  We made the most of the day given to us and we’re grateful for every minute of it.  Come tomorrow we’ll see what we can find to do.  Why, we may even try to do some sightseeing despite the heat.

Thanks for stopping by today.  We always enjoy your company and appreciate your comments.  Catch you tomorrow.

These are the voyages of  Elvira and it’s two intrepid travelers.  Our continuing mission: to explore as many new states as possible, to seek out new acquaintances and make new friends, to boldly go where we have never been before.

See you on down the road!

  1. Good luck with the dryer venting. Sounds awfully hot. Hot here, too, but we have high humidity. Thank heavens for air conditioning! Enjoy the day, and stay safe and cool!
