Temperature 91 Degrees With Humidity Feels Like 101
Yipee! No Leaks
It started out as such a beautiful day. Abundant sunshine with not a cloud in the sky. There was not even a mention of rain in the forecast. It was also as expected extremely hot and humid. Really, you walk out the front door of Elvira and it is as if someone threw a wool blanket over you.
Yet, we decided to take a short walk this morning. Just up the block and back. Tomorrow we’ll try going a bit further. Hopefully, each day we’ll do the same.
I got out the grill today because I knew it would be better if we cooked outside rather than inside Elvira. Anything we can do to keep the temperature down inside is sure to help.
On the menu today was grilled sausage. They are one of my favorites and I always enjoy them.
While I was grilling I happened to look up and this is what I saw.
Just like that the clouds had gathered overheard. Now, normally they come and go and nothing happens. The sky clears in a matter of minutes and we’re back to clear blue skies.
Not this time. I no more than got in the door with supper and the rain began to come down in buckets. I mean, it poured hard and fast. I immediately went to the bathroom to check where we had the leak the last time. Yipee! Not a drop of water. I’ll keep a check on it during the next couple of weeks since there is rain in the forecast almost every day.
With rain outside we decided to stay inside and play some Mexican Train. Imagine, we’ve been here three days now and this is the first we’ve had them out. We must be slipping.
That was our day on The Road of Retirement. We’re enjoying our time here even as we did last year. This is a beautiful place to call home, except for the weather. Hot and humid during the summer but too cold for our liking during the winter months. Tomorrow, I hope to give Elvira a bath. The replacement of the patio awning is on hold until we get to Florida.
Thanks for stopping by today. We always appreciate your company and your comments. Catch you tomorrow.
These are the voyages of Elvira and her two intrepid travelers. Our continuing mission: to explore as many new states as possible, to seek out new acquaintances and make new friends, to boldly go where we have never been before.
See you on down the road!
Sausages look good. Charred just like we like them.😊 Glad you are dry inside but keep the heat and humidity there.

Good job on fixing the leak! What a good idea to walk a bit each day and increase. I truly believe walking is one of the best ways to stay healthy. Stay cool, and enjoy your day!
