Just Kicking Back
Well, I don’t know what I’m going to do now. WordPress has adopted a new way of posting blogs and it is absolutely horrible. They call it progress. I call it a pain in the neck. Time will tell how this all plays out.
Some of you may recognize the picture posted above. It’s from the last time we were here in May, 2019. We had such a wonderful time here. There was so much to do, so much to see. Which leaves us searching for things to do and see this time around.
We came here this time expecting to spend time with our friends, Mary and Bobby, who are Escapees managers. However, because of COVID-19 they were not allowed by Escapees to move from where they are in Tennessee to Alabama. An absolute big time bummer.
So for the time being we’re just hanging out, Barbara is working on the inside and I’m working on the outside. She is catching up on laundry and cleaning the kitchen area.
I’m working on the outside. I washed Elvira. I lubed the slides. I checked and made sure all slide motor mounting bolts were tight. I checked fluids and made sure all were at the proper level. I rechecked the roof. I repaired a locker push rod. I cleaned and rearranged a number of lockers.
We’ve gone shopping a couple of times. We’ll probably make one more trip to the grocery store before we leave. Not that we want to since no one around here believes in wearing a mask. More and more I’m coming to the sad conclusion that we live in a country where people really only think about themselves. They believe in doing whatever they want and care little for those around them. So sad that our country has come to this.
That is what we’ve been doing on The Road of Retirement. We’re on our way to Florida and having second thoughts about that decision. But it is what it is. We have doctor appointments to keep. Once they’re all done it will be goodbye Florida and Hello Arizona.
Thanks for stopping by today. We always appreciate your company and your comments. We’ll keep you posted as much as we can over the next several days.
These are the voyages of Elvira and her two intrepid travelers. Our continuing mission: to explore as many new states as possible, to seek out new acquaintances and make new friends, to boldly go where we have never been before.
See you on down the road!
Sorry you did not get to see your friends. At least you both got a lot of good work done. Stay safe and have a good day tomorrow!

This virus has alot of things messed up. Alabama has a high number of Covid cases according to what we hear. The fact that they aren’t wearing masks is part of the reason. There are alot of people that still don’t believe it is a real virus. UGH!!! Take care of each other.
