Christmas Worship
To one and all we wish you a very Merry Christmas. May you, inspite of all the turmoil, the chaos, the dark days around us, know the love, joy, peace and hope that Christ came to bring us on Christmas Day. Let us never forget that God even now is in our midst and that nothing – not even COVID-19 – can separate us from His love revealed in Christ our Lord. Remember, that He has come to rescue us from ourselves and in Him we will triumph over all.
The sign of the times. The sky remained overcast all day. The barometric pressure was dropping like a rock warning of the storm yet to come. It hit a high of 79 degrees today yet by tomorrow morning it is supposed to drop into the mid 30″s. Hard to belive it is going to drop that fast in just 12 hours. The storm finally arrived at 8 pm this evening. The first blast was a mix of strong winds and pounding rain. Thankfully, it only lasted for 30 minutes. Now, what’s behind it I’m sure we will soon find out.
Early afternoon I went over to the RC track to see who was running what.
They have a dragstrip. Nothing happening here today.
They have a full track with jumps, berms, and some wicked corners. There were a few cars running here today.
They also have an obstacle course. I found a number of cars here trying to beat the mountain.
This was the obstacle of the day. Up, over and between the two rocks at the top. The guy with this car made several attempts only to be turned away each time.
This was the only car to make it up and through.
Others just back flipped their way down the mountain. It was fascinating watching the cars on the two tracks. Maybe there is an RC car in my future? Maybe.
We ended our day with Christmas Eve Worship at our home church.
There was the lighting of the Advent Candle – there and here.
It was a service of lessons
and carols. This is one of my joys during the Christmas season. Ms Barbara has a beautiful voice and she loves to sing all the Christmas songs. So, we put the Message on Sirrus which during the Christmas season plays so many of them and she sings along with them. I absolutely love listening to her.
We also had special music provided by our Bell Choirs.
The message this afternoon was a reminder that with the coming of Christ everything has now changed. We are now no longer alone. And now that He has come to us, we like the shepherds are to go back into the world we are a part of with the message of the Good News of God’s all inclusive love. We, in essence are to be living birth announcements that Christ the Saviour of the World has been born. And to all who make room within their heart for Him He brings the gifts of His love, joy, peace and hope.
That was our day on The Road of Retirement.
Our Christmas tree is up with our gifts for one another around it.
I’ve even put a plate of cookies out for Santa Claus. I wonder, how does he get in? Oh well, that’s his problem.
Thanks for joining us today. We always appreciate your company, your comments, and your suggestions. Keep safe, keep healthy, live to the fullest the days that God gives you.
These are the voyages of Elvira and her two intrepid travelers. Our continuing mission: to explore as many new states as possible, to seek out new acquaintances and make new friends, to boldly go where we have never been before.
See you on down the road!
To live with faith is to live with hope. Love the Christmas tree and the gifts! Maybe next year there will be a RC car. Merry Christmas to you and Barbara!
