Georgia Sea Turtle Center

Driftwood Beach

Cool nights that only require a light blanket. Warm afternoons cooled by a gentle sea breeze. This is our kind of weather. Add to that a beautiful blue sky and you have the perfect day for sightseeing.

So, let’s get going and we’ll give you the highlights of our day. Unfortunately, time does not permit me to go into depth regarding each stop tonight. But in the days and blogs ahead I promise I’ll get each one caught up.

Our fist stop is one that I had been looking forward to ever since I knew we were coming to this area. Yes, turtles are my heroes if you haven’t already guessed. They remind me that you can only get ahead in life when you’re ready to stick your neck out. Then to, they are a lot like full time RV’ers in that they carry their home around with them.

Moving on to our 2nd stop.

Our 3rd stop. The Jekyll Island Club

Then

Now

Our 4th stop.

Our last stop – Driftwood Beach

A bonus.

This is the 656 ft Golden Ray. The cargo ship capsized as it was leaving the Port of Brunswick, heading for Baltimore with 4,200 new cars on board. The plan to dismantle the wreck is to use a giant chain saw, slice it into eight sections and take each away on a barge. One section has already been hauled away.

Well, that was our day on The Road of Retirement. It is time now to get some rest. We’re not used to all this sightseeing. It’s been some time since we were out and about like this day in and day out. Oh, but we are loving it. We’re just a bit weary if you know what I mean. So, good night to one and good night to all.

Thanks for taking the time to read our blog.  We always appreciate your company, your comments, and your suggestions. Keep safe, keep healthy, live to the fullest the days that God gives you.

These are the voyages of  Elvira and her two intrepid travelers.  Our continuing mission: to explore as many new states as possible, to seek out new acquaintances and make new friends, to boldly go where we have never been before.

See you on down the road!
