Home Is Where We Park It: Dade Battlefield Historical State Park

Dog Day In The Park
No lying around this morning since we were on the work schedule. Up by 7 am, throw down a couple of cups of coffee and we were out the door. We’ll have brunch when we get home, whenever that will be.
Today was Dogs Day At The Park. Open to dogs of all breeds and sizes there would be
classes in obedience, a dog talent show and a guest appearance by the Sumter County K9 unit. There was a table for not only our park but Florida parks in general. There was a
table set up by the Humane Society of Sumter County. They are a busy place year round.
The Sumter County Sheriffs Department had two dogs with them.
They gave several demonstrations on search and find, and taking down a fugitive.
Now for some of the real stars of the morning program.
It was wags aplenty all morning long. Here are the winners of the talent show.
Not a big turnout but an enthusiastic group with some really great dogs. A winner all the way.
Once the program was finished and we were all cleaned up it was back to Graybeard to pick up where I had left off yesterday. Today I was going to tackle the lockers on the port side and the first one I attacked with a spray bottle of bleach was the water closet. I scrubbed it until I was satisfied that it was squeaky clean back to front, top to bottom.
I then moved forward and cleaned and rearranged the other three lockers on this side. I still have a few questions as to where I’m going to put, for instance, the jack pads and the over-size mat we currently have down outside our door. The satellite antenna and the water softener will probably be put in the car as we move from place to place.
As of now the lockers are rearranged and cleaned. All that is left is to treat the rubber gaskets with 303 and lube the hinges and struts which I will do in the next few days.
That was our day on The Road of Retirement. We had a great day and enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks for coming along with us we hope you enjoyed your trip with us. Till tomorrow!
These are the voyages of Graybeard and it’s occupants, four paws and two humans. Our continuing mission: to explore as many new states as possible, to seek out new acquaintances and make new friends, to boldly go where we have not been before
See you on down the road
Now that looks like a fun day. You didn’t take Marti? Your bins look amazing and if we could we’d bring our RV and you could clean our bins. 😁
