Celebrating Our Friends 52nd Wedding Anniversary

What a great day to be alive!  Could have used that lost hour of sleep though.  But it is what it is so we made the best of it.  Anyway, we’ll get that hour back sometime later in the year, at least I hope so!

Off to worship at the First Presbyterian Church.  We missed last week because we had to work so it was good to get back.  Pastor Ron had a great message as always.  Steve was on his game with the music.  We’re going to miss our Sunday mornings here when we leave the end of March.  What’s worse is that we will not be back here for almost two years.

Next on the day’s agenda was a trip for Aldi since our cupboards and refrigerator/freezer were getting a bit bare.  Ah but getting there did not go smooth.  Barbara insisted she knew where it was and so it did I.  Problem was, we both were thinking of different stores in different towns.  Since I was driving I went my way.  Things were a real quiet in the car for a bit!  Yes, we eventually patched things up and all is well again.

Right around the corner from Aldi was a Jersey Mike’s a favorite sandwich shop of ours.

Our favorite sandwich and the one we had today was the Big Kahuna Cheese Steak Sandwich.

Tummies full and a car full of groceries we finally headed home to put things away.  However, before we could put the cold stuff in the freezer I had to defrost it.  Not a bad chore since I do it every couple of months so the ice never really builds up too bad.  An hour later I had the freezer done and ready to receive the frozen goods we bought today.

Time now to make up for that lost hour of sleep.  In essence it was nap time for both of us.  Ah, it felt good to lay my head down for a good hour.

Nap over we headed down the road to our neighbor’s rig.  We were gathering together to celebrate Terry and Trudy’s 52nd wedding anniversary.

It was a good time with good friends that lasted for over three hours.  Finally, the bugs got to all of us and we each headed home to our respective rigs.

That was our day on The Road of Retirement.  It was a day filled with a little bit of this and a little bit of that.  We got down what needed to be done and we ended the day gathered together with some friends.  One can’t ask for better than that.

Thanks again for traveling along with us.  We hope you enjoyed the journey and we’ll see you again tomorrow as we head out again.

These are the voyages of  Graybeard and it’s occupants, four paws and two humans.  Our continuing mission: to explore as many new states as possible, to seek out new acquaintances and make new friends, to boldly go where we have not been before

See you on down the road

  1. Glad you had a good day. Getting back to church is something I’m looking forward to. Having a cabinet and refrigerator filled always makes for a comfortable feeling. Glad the two of you made up also. 💕
