Home Is Where We Park It: Joy RV Park
Date: April 2, 2019
An Easy Day in Paradise
Ah, what a way to begin. Moderate temperature. No rain, not yet. No rush to get up. The only one who wanted – no make that had to – get up was of course Marti. He’s mine in the morning so off we went for an early morning walk, a short one mine you. Back home I grabbed a cup of coffee and settled in to watch the morning news. Eventually Barbara began to stir so I grabbed another cup of coffee and took it back to her. Then settled in for an early morning nap. Life is grand.
We had no plans to begin sight-seeing until tomorrow. Point of fact we really didn’t have any kind of plan. Barbara got busy on that after she got up. She started gathering together points of interest, ticket prices, routes, etc. First thing tomorrow we’ll start by visiting the Kennedy Space Center. There are lots more to come after that.
I had a few things that still needed to be done so eventually I got busy. The awnings came out. The wheel covers went on. I took Marti for another longer walk. I walked around the park and scoped things out. I replaced the lower screen on our front door with no see um screen. I was supposed to do this last week, but well, one thing led to another and it never got down. Part of the problem was I couldn’t get the screen door off to work on it in the shop. It has three hinges with four screws each but those screws refuse to give. I tried everything even a ratchet with a screw bit. So, I have to replace the screen with the door in place.
It turned out to be a good thing that we stayed home today. Most of the day it rained off and on. It didn’t clear up until about mid afternoon. No problem, we’re here for a week.
I took a couple of more pictures of our new home today. It’s nice and quiet and clean.
There are a few trees here and there but for the most part this is just a big lot with a paved road making one big loop with RV sites carved out on either side. Typical RV park. The nice thing is that the separation between sites is good. Bottom line, we like it and would consider returning here if we found ourselves in the area again.
That was our day on The Road of Retirement. Just another day in paradise. We’ll take each and every one that comes our way. Tomorrow we start sight-seeing. We’re more than ready for it and looking forward to it.
Thanks for joining us again on our journey. Don’t forget to come along tomorrow because it’s going to be a big day. Till then, time to say goodnight.
These are the voyages of Graybeard and it’s occupants, four paws and two humans. Our continuing mission: to explore as many new states as possible, to seek out new acquaintances and make new friends, to boldly go where we have not been before
See you on down the road
