God Really Does Take Care of Fools and Old Men Like Me
Late yesterday afternoon it began with a vengeance. A toothache of epic proportion. This was beyond all belief. I’ve been taking care of my teeth religiously. Especially, after the money I spent on them in Yuma several months back. So, now what? Then again, where to go to get it taken care of?
A quick search on the internet and I found Aspen Dental. They were only 30 minutes away, and I could make an appointment online. I made an appointment for today at 10 am.
Today we arrived a few minutes early and were warmly greeted by the office manager who was at the front desk. The first surprise we received was the news that since you have no dental insurance you are entitled to a free comprehensive exam with xrays. Really?
The exam showed that I had a tooth that had to come out. Yes, they would take care of it today. Oh boy I now knew I was in for an interesting day.
Well, the tooth is now out and all I can say is what a fantastic dental clinic we stumbled upon. The staff in total as well as the dentist are first class all the way. As for the price – they quoted us one price which we believed was very reasonable – but when the procedure was through they then told us the price quoted was wrong. The price was actually over a hundred dollars less! How often do you hear that?
Here’s an added bonus. Aspen Dental has offices all over this great land of ours. Meaning, what was done today and entered in their computer system can be accessed by any office anywhere. Yipee! The VA could learn a lesson from them.
Well, now we know why we ended up here in the middle of nowhere. Once again God’s hand was leading us. Demonstrating once more that God takes care of fools and old men like me. We both got a chuckle thinking of some of the prior places we recently had called home and we both agreed it would have been hard to find nation-wide dental care in those locations. Especially, the first class service we received today. Once again we ended up in the right place at the right time.
Our day on The Road of Retirement has come to a close. Definitely not the type of day we expected. Yet a day that proves once again how blessed and fortunate we really are. Ah yes, tain’t this life grand!
Thanks for hanging in there with us. We always appreciate your company and your comments. Catch you tomorrow.
