Project For The Day – Sanitizing the Water Tank
A Look At Our New Home
Before I left the dental office yesterday the dentist encouraged me to eat lots of soft foods for 24 hours. He stated ice cream would be a great choice. I am always one to try and follow doctor’s orders. So, I even went out and bought a second half gallon so I would not run out! Now that the 24 hours is up I guess I’ll need to go back to more regular foods. Oh well it was great while it lasted.
I have been talking about doing this probably since day one of our ownership of Elvira. I needed to bleach the onboard water tank and subsequently all the water lines. This morning before it got to hot I filled the tank with the appropriate bleach solution and let it set for the remainder of the day. Tonight before I go to bed I’ll pump the solution through the lines and let them set for the night. Then tomorrow morning when I get up and I’ll flush the entire system. Finally, I’ll dump what’s left in the water tank and fill it again with fresh water. That was my project for the day.
Time for some pictures of our new homestead. When we first pulled in we noted some interesting markers for each site. Today I took some pictures of them. Here are a few.
Next, some pictures from inside the office.
Though the map is not to scale it sure helps one to get an overall picture of where things are in this area.
Hand painted with remarkable attention to detail.
Hand built models of early wagons.
The Duke himself.
A little bit of this and that.
I was just fascinated with this, the artwork and attention to detail.
Need a sombrero anyone?
Nothing more needs be said!
That was our day on The Road of Retirement. I feel so much better today now that the tooth ache is gone. The fact that there is no residual pain is the icing on the cake. We were told today that the park is planning for a 4th of July celebration. They’ll be fireworks, a Mexican food truck, and fire engines. Quite a combination, hey? We’re looking forward to it.
In closing
Thanks for stopping by today. We always appreciate your company and your comments. Catch you tomorrow.
These are the voyages of Elvira and it’s two intrepid travelers. Our continuing mission: to explore as many new states as possible, to seek out new acquaintances and make new friends, to boldly go where we have never been before.
See you on down the road!
Ice cream, too!! I need a new dentist! Great pictures! Sounds like a good place to be for the 4th!
