A Little of This and A Little of That

Happy Valentine’s Day! OK, I’m a day early but I didn’t want to forget. Yes, I got my sweetheart some flowers for the day. If there is any women more deserving I don’t know who. What she puts up with living with me, flowers are the least I can get her! She’s been at my side through thick and thin, for richer and poorer, around all the twists and turns, and over all the speed bumps for some 38 years. I love her more today than the day we said I do. And each day I try to find new ways to let her how much I love her.

As to what has been going on around the homestead . . .

The great shutter paint off continues. To the left are two pair of shutters with their new coat of green paint, and to the right are two more pair waiting for their color change.

The first two pair painted and already back up. They do make a statement! I like them, but Ms. Barbara is sort of on the fence. I told her give it at least a year and if she still doesn’t like them we’ll sell the house. Not real, I told her I would change the color. Speaking of selling the house, it amazes me that when we first moved in we had all intention of reselling the house this April. Needless to say, that idea has gone out the window. I guess you can say the house has grown on us and we’re really comfortable here. It will make an excellent base from which to venture forth into the great unknown.

This is my son Paul and his wife Brittany. They purchased our original rig when we purchased Elvira. They recently sold their home in Ohio and are now living in the rig on a rented lot right behind our house. Now how about that. They’ll be moving over to our home and driveway once we leave in April and will be here for most of the summer. Since Paul works remotely, living here is not a problem at all.

It’s been great having them here in the neighborhood. We get together for Sunday dinner and sometimes during the week for game night. I can’t think of a better way to spend time then with family.

Life is great on The Road of Retirement. We have so much to be grateful for. We have a wonderful home, we’re getting to spend time with family, and we’re both back to full health. Soon enough we’ll be back on the road again and we’re excited about that. We have been and remain two of the most blessed people on the face of the earth.

Thanks again for stopping by today  We always appreciate your company, and your comments and suggestions. Keep safe, keep healthy, live to the fullest the days that God gives you.

Our continuing mission remains the same: to explore as many new states as possible, to seek out new acquaintances and make new friends, to boldly go where we have not been before

  1. I like the green shutters! Some accents with a touch of the same color around your home could tie it all together. The flowers look very nice, too. Paul and Brittany look very much in love, too. How nice that they are so close! Hope you all have a Happy Valentine’s Day, too!

      1. Well, I know you have that turtle on your house. Maybe some other little statue or a couple of lawn ornaments. Seeing the color somewhere else would look good. I’ve watched a lot of HGTV, so that makes me very well qualified to give decorating advice. lol Good luck. Even if you don’t add a thing, I like the lively green!
