Temperature 81 Degrees

Time Out

The weather lately has been absolutely beautiful. Abundant sunshine, clear blue skies and the temperature has been right where you like it to be.

Having said all that, it all adds up to a perfect opportunity for a picnic in the park. Pick a park, any park, we have lots of them all around us.

Yesterday we picked Lake Parker Park which is just about 20 minutes from our house. It is a small but beautiful park with lots of green grass, and plenty of picnic tables. In addition, dogs are welcomed so Proton was able to come with us.

The lake is one of the larger ones in the area. While we were there we saw a number of bass boats speeding across the lake.

There are a number of paved walking trails in the park and we did spend some time walking a smaller trail.

That was yesterday, as for today. . .

We made the trip to Parkesdale Market. There is, for us, only one reason to make the trip here and that is for

the strawberries which are now in season and of course for their

always delicious Strawberry Shortcake.

Oh yes, they plant a lot of strawberries every year.

They have a wonderful covered area for feeding your face.

Though we came for the strawberries, we also had the opportunity to meet Ms. Barbara’s brother Harry and his wife Janet who were on their way home to Fort Myers from Orlando. All in all it was an absolutely delightful afternoon spent filling our faces and spending time with family. The best of all worlds.

Life remains good on The Road of Retirement. Our days are easy with no pressing concerns to trouble us. What more could one ask for. Hope life is good for you as well.

Thanks again for stopping by today  We always appreciate your company, and your comments and suggestions. Keep safe, keep healthy, live to the fullest the days that God gives you.

Our continuing mission remains the same: to explore as many new states as possible, to seek out new acquaintances and make new friends, to boldly go where we have not been before

  1. That looks like a very nice park and the temperature sounds perfect. OK, now I ‘m salivating! We always made a trip to Parkesdale for those strawberries. Spending time outside with family while eating strawberry shortcake! Life is Good.

      1. I wish we could have some of those strawberries. Not this year. We’ll wait for Pennsylvania strawberries.

  2. Looks like a great couple of days! How nice that you live near so many parks. Dan and I often walk at a park (in nice weather, of course) and then find a picnic table, play a game, and maybe have a snack. It’s a way to enjoy the area a bit longer. The Parkesdale market looks scrumptious!
